Turkey Time

If there is such a thing, November was actually a slow month for us. We spent a lot of time together with friends and family, enjoyed a great Thanksgiving with our small group of 50, and took a trip to Reno where Halen saw her first snow. Now, we are getting into the Christmas swing of things. Mike has over purchased well beyond out "1 big present" idea and is obsessed with toys. We are so excited to see her on Christmas, though Daddy may be sad when she is more excited about the wrapping than the carefully chosen presents...

We took a day trip to Chico to do some shopping and see some friends. This is my new friend Gwendolyn Lu. She is one month older than me. Her Daddy and my Daddy went to school together.

Yes, we are still going to Grammy and Grandpa's every Sunday for dinner. Me and Cadence like to take a bath together after we get messy at dinner. As you can see, we DON'T like to get dressed after.

I'm getting a little stubborn, sometimes I fight my naps and cry til I'm so exhausted I just fall over

I learned a new game. It's called peek-a-boo. This is right before I broke the blinds. Dad says he is taking the $$ out of my college fund to fix them.

My trip to Reno was really fun. I liked the hotel bed a lot. It was really soft, and the big people even let me sleep with them for the first time ever. I knew that if I cried enough they would give in. 1 point for baby!! There was even a couch in our room so I could look out the window and see the snow that was falling. Oh, the last night the bed got the best of me when I was just crawling along and it just jumped right out from under me....

check out my battle scar...

I'm pretty much standing up everywhere, on everything. Mom and Dad are hoping I don't walk til after Christmas....

We live in the coolest neighborhood. There are lost of big trees, so in the fall we get lots of leaves to play in. Dad thinks they are a pain to clean up, but Mommy and I had a fun time playing in them...

I've also developed a new love of books. Mommy is so proud to have such a smart girl who will soon love to read like her. For now, I pretty much like the pictures and turning the pages.

Thanksgiving was really fun. We went to the range where daddy practices his shooting for work and had dinner there with ALL of our family. Isn't my dress pretty?? My Nonna made it for me. I am so thankful that I have the best grandmas ever!!!

At the end of the month, I got to play with some other friends. This is Tyler and Kamryn. They give me all of their clothes when they get too small for them. I am so lucky to have such great friends!

Another great month comes to an end. Can you believe I've been around for 9 months already?? Time flies when you are having fun!

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

Pumpkin Time

Hello... I'm Standing!

So, at the beginning of the month, Mom came home from work and Dad told her that I was sleeping. She went in to check on me to find me standing in my crib. She rushed to make some covers for the bars since I had decided to also chew on the bar when standing. So yes, I've graduated to the standing stage! I pretty much pull myself up on EVERTHING now. Cabinets, coffee table, entertainment center, doors, chairs, anything I can get close enough to. Mom and Dad decided that I needed some new standing toys. Mom busted out the last of the Target gift cards from her baby showers, and after Dad made fun of her for keeping them around for so long, we picked out some cool things!

A couple weeks later, I was down for the count when I got the swine flu. A yucky 102 fever plagued me for a few days followed by my first throwing up yuckyness and finally after 5 days or so, my body was strong enough to fight it off and I felt much better.

This month I was having a really wierd sleeping schedule and being sick totally threw me off my game even further. Mommy and Daddy quickly realized that you just can't get too comfortable with your routine cause it can change in an instant. They were very lucky to have a baby sleeping through the night early on, but this month I had a whole new plan. I was deciding to wake up around 1am every night very unhappy and wanting to be up fr quite a while before finally crashing again. By the end of the month, I had developed a pretty bad execema rash on my back that was spreading to my legs, tummy and head. Lydia suggested a gluten and dairy-free diet change. So far, so good! I am back to my normal sleeping habits and the rash has cleared. Mom says that's why we pay her so much money!

While I was sick, we missed our big planned trip to the pumpkin patch. So, when I got better Mom and Dad took me to Nash's. I really like all the pumpkins. I really liked chewing on the stems the most. Who would have guessed???

A couple days later, Nonnie Cheryl and Grandpa John came to help us carve the pumpkins. Mom did 2 of them, and Dad was really particular about his Giants Pumpkin. Mommy let me stand in her big one, it was kinda slimy on my toes and it made me laugh.

We went to Roseville to visit some friends for the weekend i on the 24th. I had lots of fun playing with my new friend Peyton (21 months) and all of her cool toys. Dad and Brett had fun playing with the toys too when they built a giant tower out of Mega Blocks. (sorry, no pictures cause Mom forgot the camera when Dad didn't get off work as planned... Mom says that's the story of our life)
Finally, it was Halloween and I got to wear my totally awesome Pickle Spitz costume made by my Nonnie Cheryl. For those of you who don't know the story... when I was born, I blew bubbles and spit a lot. Mom started calling me Spitz. My dad really like the Dill Pickle flavor of Spitz sunflower seeds. So, they started calling me Pickle Spitz. Then Nonnie said she could make me a costume
and it turned out AWESOME!!! Mommy was a sunflower and Dad was the sun and the rain (everything she needs to grow the little Spitz) that's what his shirt said.

.
Me and Aiden had matching after costume skeleton costume pjs. They even glow in the dark.

We'll be back for another update after Turkey Time!

September...Out!

We have finally gotten into a routine with Mom and Dad both working normal schedules. Well as much of a routine as you can have with a teething 7 month old. Yep, by month's end, I had 4 bottom teeth. I've been workin on one of my top ones too, but it doesn't seem to wanna come out, it just continues to give me this darn runny nose.

For only the second time since mommy was little, the annual Labor Day camping trip was not held at Patrick's Point. They had a rabid dog outbreak, so we moved up the coast to Redwood RV Park in Crescent City. It was cool to be close to my great-grandma's house in Brookings so we could go visit her when it got really rainy in our camp. We went to the beach, and I got to see the ocean. That was pretty cool and I liked the COLD water on my feet, much more than the sand at first. I even enjoyed a nice cold beer while at the beach!

I think I like camping. Mom was glad I wasn't crawling around much yet, but the week we got home, I was all over the place. This is what I like to call "strike a pose." I got a new Jumparoo from my friends the Blehms. Mom and Dad quickly discovered that it was TOO close to the curtains.

I'm really wanting to pull myself up to standing too. I learned that from my cousin Aiden.

Grammy and Grandpa are excited that Cadence and I aren't so boring anymore and we are actually starting to play together ;) We are also learning what it means to "play nice."

Daddy Finally let me sit in his police car. Since he works on the weekends, he comes home to have breakfast with us. He really misses me when he is gone. Who wouldn't?

Look at how good I am doing at feeding myself!

We ended the month with another trip to San Francisco. This time, the Chandler Family joined us. Mom and Dad went to the Brad Paisley concert on Friday night. I got to stay at the hotel with my Auntie Whitnee, Uncle Brandon and Cousin Cadence. We had lots of fun, and I was really good. Auntie Whitnee thinks she could handle twins, mom had to remind her that it took a lot of time to get us to this point. On Saturday, we got to take Whitnee, Brandon, and Cadence to their first Giants game. The lost... AGAIN! But we still had fun!!!
